At the Arbol violin workshop in Cologne, I provide comprehensive condition reports for string instruments, combined with high-precision analytical methods and well-established expertise. These services are intended for musicians, collectors, as well as insurance or sales contexts where a clear assessment and detailed documentation are essential. As part of the optical analysis, varnish condition, glue joints, cracks and subtle material changes are examined in detail. This visual assessment forms a solid basis for evaluation and, through modern methods, leads to clear and reliable results. The analysis is further complemented by dendrochronological examination carried out in collaboration with specialist partner workshops. Together with the renowned workshop Versteeg Geigenbau, dendrochronological analyses are conducted to accurately date the growth of the resonance wood, determine its origin and draw conclusions regarding the age and authenticity of the instrument. In addition, I work within an extensive network of specialised experts. This allows for tailored reports and expert assessments when questions of authenticity, valuation or planned restorations arise. The close integration of traditional craftsmanship, advanced analytical methods and an established expert network ensures that each instrument is not only carefully assessed, but also strategically supported. Transparency, quality and reliability are central to my work. Clients receive a clearly structured and comprehensible report with well-founded conclusions and recommendations.
